2016 Yamaha Off Road Motard

Hey guys. Loves motard much? I got bikes for you from Yamaha. Too bad this is not entering Malaysian Market yet, but it will. The price I show here are from US, during the lunching of these models. Enjoy the brand new Yamaha Off Road Bikes.

On the street side of things it was fairly boring, but for the off-road market, they have some good news. Most of the returning off-road and motocross models are getting some worthwhile upgrades. Luckily, the upgrades are not accompanied by price increases.

2016 YZ450F

The best selling 450F on the market will see some improvements for its 2016 year model. The rear of the frame is beefier, including stronger engine brackets and the fork offset has been changed from 22mm to 24mm. You’ll find a new 270mm front brake rotor for decreased stopping distance. The biggest upgrade on the 2016 model is launch-control.

The YZ450F is priced at $8,590 in Team Yamaha Blue/White and $8,690 in Limited-Edition 60th Anniversary Yellow. I normally hate special edition models, but fell in love with the 60th Anniversary Yellow. The YZ450F will be available in dealerships beginning in late June, and the YZ250F will arrive at dealerships in late July.

2016 YZ250F

The 2016 YZ250F will see a lot of little improvements, like a flatter, lighter weight piston, which is said to increase top end power. A larger front brake rotor and some suspension changes for both front and rear; however, Yamaha didn’t get into the exact suspension changes.

The YZ250F will retail for $7,590 in Team Yamaha Blue/White and $7,690 in Limited-Edition 60th Anniversary Yellow.

2016 YAMAHA YZ250X

The unveiling I’m the most excited about is the 2016 Yamaha YZ250X. I love 2-strokes, but also like desert rides. Think of it like the Yamaha YZ250FX, but now in a 2-stroke. Yamaha built the YZ250X specifically for Cross Country and Hare Scrambles competition. With some engine tuning changes to take away “that aggressive bit down low,” to a more gradual power curve. The power valve, exhaust pipe, Digital CDI ignition, and 38 mm Keihin® PWK carburetor have all been tuned to bring a little more power into the top end. It’s projected to be a smooth and capable racer. It’ll also feature a wide-ratio, five-speed.

“The YZ250X’s aggressive bodywork is based on the YZ250 motocrosser, but features updated styling from the front fender to the rear brake protector. The bike also comes standard with an aluminum, tapered handlebar; YZ-F-style foot pegs, a gripper seat; Excel rims with Dunlop®tires; and a whole host of GNCC-specific features, including an 18-inch rear wheel, sealed O-ring chain, narrow expansion chamber, a convenient side stand, and a fuel tank petcock with reserve position,” according to the Yamaha press release.

The bike will retail for only $100 more than the standard YZ250 at $7,390.

2016 2-STROKES

For 2016, the YZ85, YZ125 and YZ250 will feature gold-colored chains and black wheels. Nothing stellar, but luckily, no price bumps either. The bikes will be available in Team Yamaha Blue/White and they’ll also remain at the same USD for 2016: YZ85 for $4,090, the YZ125 for $6,390, and the YZ250 for $7,290. Available in dealerships beginning in late August.

So Malaysians, I think these gonna come here at the end of the year, if we are lucky. Hehehe. Thanks for reading everyone.

Megelli History

2006 Current off-road products were having a shorter life span within the market place, mainly due to Asian copies. We soon realized that we needed new exciting on-road products, which couldn't be copied easily.

PDQ Get the price, design and quality right and you have a winning formula.

A creative company with knowledge and experience of the industry was crucial to fulfilling our requirements. A team who believed in our goals, and understood our concept of the final product was selected from the leading European motorcycle designers. Cutting edge C.A.D. technology was used to transfer the original design data into computerized virtual design, breathing new life into the process. The end result could be viewed and analyzed, ensuring compliance with the strict design and engineering criteria, prior to any physical part being produced.

Key structural components, including frame, sub-frame, swing arm, out-riggers and wheels, were subjected to F.E.A (Finite Element Analysis) ensuring long-term performance and durability.

Branding was the next step. We needed a name that reflected the product. Around the dinner table that night, my partner explained that she had jokingly been called McGilli because of her surname, and over the next few weeks we eventually changed it to Megelli. Checking the name out on the Internet there were only five results all relating to a small village in Italy, perfect!

2007
  1. My Taiwanese business partner brought together manufacturing companies in China to produce tooling for our Motorcycles.
  2. September, gained Type approval,
  3. October, achieved DOT approval.
  4. October, production of Megelli Motard 125M
  5. November, Product launch Milan EICMA show,

2008
  1. March, product launch Canton Fair China.
  2. May Homologation with SYM engines
  3. September production Megelli Naked 125S & Megelli Sport 125R
  4. September ADR approval (Australia)

2009
  1. CE approval Motard 250M, Naked 250S and Sport 250R models
  2. June Homologation with 250cc engines

2010
  1. EPA approval USA
  2. Megelli had grown into a global brand, which is a credit to our loyal distributors and end users. Like the designs, the demand was strong.
  3. We needed a stronger partner; this was to prove the greatest challenge.

2012
Restyling of Megelli Naked S and Sport R models to incorporate larger airbox, fuel injection and packaging of components.

2013
Still looking for the right partner.

2014
Megelli distribution partner in Malaysia, were stronger and more experienced in producing motorcycles, so the decision to transfer ownership was made, creating a stronger future for Megelli Motorcycles.

2015
  1. Forming of new Megelli global distribution company, Megelli Limited.
  2. We can now focus on designing new products for you, our potential customer.

SUPERBIKE'S ABS

Hello riders! Welcome to July! Most bikes differ from cars in that they have separate front and rear brakes, while most cars’ brakes function as one. In addition, motorcycles use different front and rear tires; weight shift is also a major part of a motorbike’s stopping performance. Anti-lock brake systems for bikes and cars face different challenges.

Anti-lock braking systems (ABS) are relatively new for bikes. There’s no one standard system. But all ABS work in a similar way: they compare front- and rear-wheel rotation speeds, and if one wheel is locking up under braking (skidding), ABS momentarily releases braking force to that wheel and then re-applies it. The best systems do this about 24 times a second—much faster than any human.

Many also automatically apply both brakes, linking the front and rear. Your rear-brake pedal still (mostly) controls the rear brake, but applies some front brake as well; ditto for the front-brake lever.

ABS helps you stop faster because it helps to eliminate skidding, though it will do nothing for increased stopping distances on wet roads or ice. But since most riders tip over if they lock a wheel, anti-lock brakes are a real benefit. They’re usually more costly, add weight and complexity to a bike, and some riders resent the perceived loss of .control.
And if you looking something more interesting about this ABS in your superbike, try perform endo KISS. Just be real careful if you are doing this stunt. Don't mind the girls. But your superbike is expensive. Hehehe
