This is where my review starts. I am at Kudat Federal Road, located 200 km from Kota Kinabalu. This road has really long line, enable me to ride this bike to her maximum speed. The first rev, I can see the acceleration is quite good. In fact, this bike can go much faster than Ducati 1199 Panigale.
And then when top speed was fine to, except this bike only has 5 gears. FIVE! Its looks like this bike can go more speed if it has 6th gear. But beside from that, its all good. The body kit can give you more aerodynamic while you riding closer to top speed. The wind shield is good enough to to give more wind resistant.
OVERALL REVIEW
- Top Speed
Top speed was a bit down. Its not that the top speed is lame, but since its just has gear transmission, so the top speed won't be enough to me. - Acceleration
Good. Real good. A 1000 cc of bike that can reach 100 kph, just 3.3 seconds.
- Quality
Good Yupz, old bike has best quality. The fairing material, the engine components, everything is at the fine quality. Trust me. - Price
Best. Its just like too little money for too much bike. With spending around Rm 10,000.000 ++, you can get this bike for you. - Maintenance
Good, Well, you know the risk of purchasing classic bikes right. Always has some risk there. No matter how good the condition when you purchase it, the problem always comes later. But since its using carb, I guess its easier for you to maintain it.
So remember. Some of older bikes are usually more powerful than modern one. Since they are using carb, which is much faster than using EFI, and the engine setting was very simple for you to tune it. But, with this limited kind of bike, you always know the spare parts are usually not ready stock, especially the engine compartments.
But far from that, these old bikes like Yamaha Thunder Ace 1000, are fun to ride. With long lines or relaxing ride, the are look beautiful. Even though Yamaha Thunder Ace is not well-known and famous like Yamaha YZF R1, but this bike still has her own legendary to tell those young riders!
See you next ride~
